I was considering the halberds idea got down to thinking that if the chapter found a sacred relic would they let the whole chapter have them or save them for the elites and the master od the chapter etc. so just wondering about your opinions on the change

The relic would be some sort of a halberd the capter found a xenos temple full of them but only a few of the relics were useable as they were missing their power scource but the adeptus mechanicus have managed to adapt them and get some to run off the power of a chainsword

xenos tech is a general no no for most astartes and they would not want to let anyone else help ie ad mech in case the inquisition got involved and most tech adepts wouldnt touch xenos tech with a stick as big as a capital ship

ok thank you for the heads up still not really knowing enough about sm's still waiting for my codex to arrive! So how about that upon an assault on a planet (to reclaim it from the clutches of the hive fleet) when holing out in the imperial stronghold(or what was left of it) when after four months of fighting through the corridors when as the captain of the 1st assault squad, thrust his power fist through the skull of a carniex whilst inadvertantly smashing a hole through the rockcrete and discovering a lost room with some old imperial relics that had not seen the light of day for many a centuary.

if they are holed up they are probably running low on ammo and equipent as is usually the case against nids. if the relis are useable weapons that would be effective against the nids then they would probably use them for the battle but it all depends on what said relics are, who used/made them and how many there are and how historically reverant the chapter was post battle.
